Indigenous Reconciliation

Indigenous Reconciliation

Indigenous Reconciliation aims to help students understand Canada’s colonial context and its consequences to be prepared to work respectfully with Indigenous Peoples in their careers. We strive to promote reconciliation in showcasing the resilience and strength of Indigenous Peoples by engaging in weekly learning discussions and working on our design project with Cat Lake First Nations.

Current projects include:

  • Team Learning Workshops – Educational activities and discussions on topics such as identity and culture.
  • Cultural Competency Training – Workshops hosted by Indigenous facilitators that give participants a new perspective on Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Field Trips & Community Involvement – Supporting and attending events in the Toronto Indigenous community.
  • Design Project in collaboration with Cat Lake First Nation This project entails collaborating with the community to address food security issues through initiatives such as community gardens and a greenhouse.
